No, Thanks

from CA$275.00

"No Thanks" is a bold, unapologetic statement against societal expectations placed on women. The painting features a single hand, its exaggerated middle finger, nails adorned with vibrant red colour in defiance. Rings encircle the finger, each inscribed with words like "weak," "passive," "obedient," “convenient,” " small,” “quiet” etc.—labels often used to confine and define women. These words represent the narrow, outdated vocabulary society uses to dictate how women should behave, look, and live. This piece rejects those limitations, celebrating the richness of language that empowers women to lead lives that are wild, precious, and entirely their own.

Original Painting - SOLD
